The AGA Washington DC Chapter, in partnership with the AGA Montgomery/Prince George’s County Chapter and the AGA Northern Virginia Chapter, is pleased to offer our Annual Ethics Workshop, with Four (4) Ethics CPE Credits
This VBOA-approved ethics course explores both the regulatory framework governing CPAs in Virginia and the ethical considerations surrounding the use of generative and agentic AI. As artificial intelligence continues to transform the accounting profession, practitioners must understand how established ethical principles apply to emerging technologies and related risks, including data privacy, bias, transparency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Through practical examples, case studies, and real-world scenarios, participants will learn how to apply the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct to both traditional ethical dilemmas and AI-driven challenges. The course emphasizes that AI is a powerful tool to enhance professional practice, but it does not replace professional judgment, accountability, or responsibility.
By the end of the program, attendees will have a stronger understanding of Virginia’s regulatory requirements, ethical decision-making frameworks, and best practices for the responsible use of AI. Participants will also gain practical strategies for developing AI governance, oversight, and usage policies that promote professional integrity, compliance, and public trust.
We look forward to your participation in this timely and engaging program. If you have any questions, please email us at cavboothe@outlook.com.
