Our Chapter and what we have coming up

The DC Chapter’s biggest night of the year occurred on May 31, 2026, with the annual DC Chapter Awards Gala. It was a great night celebrating the program year and recognizing deserving professionals across federal, state, local and private sector partners supporting government financial management. Please navigate to the DC Chapter Awards page to see the results from the night. The Award Gala could not have been made possible without significant contributions from those on the Annual Gala/Special Events Committee (Tonya Baker, Director, and Assistant Directors Cherry Sancho Ung and Karen Brown) and the Awards Committee (Orinda Basha, Director, the Voting Members of Evelyn A. Brown, Patricia Wensel, Virginia B. Robinson, and Jeffrey Steinhoff, and Scott Bell, Senior Advisor).

Additionally, the DC Chapter had other reasons to celebrate, as it achieved Platinum Status through the Achievement in Chapter Excellence (ACE) recognition program. The ACE Award recognizes well-rounded, high-performing chapters. This milestone is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of our entire team. Thanks to all DC Chapter members for encouraging each other to embody the values that define AGA.

With all that celebrating, you would think that we would just coast for the last month of the Program Year. Well, not us! Over the last month of the program year, we plan to finish strong. This includes the following opportunities:

  • One more webinar, hosted by the DC Chapter and facilitated by AGA National, remains for the program year in the beginning of June. That will make 12 total for the program year!!
  • We have scheduled our final hybrid luncheon for the program year for June 17, 2026, and will feature the Honorable Paige Hallen Hanson, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administration Officer. Stay tuned for our guest speaker and communication for when registration opens.
  • As we “wine” down the program year, it is time again for the AGA DC Annual Wine Tour on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9am to 6pm. Navigate to DC AGA Wine Tour event page

Register early as space is limited for these events. Navigate to our Events and Trainings page for more information on these events

Missed the Annual AGA DC Chapter Hybrid Spring Training? You can still review the material and watch (or listen) to the sessions – almost like you were there (minus obtaining CPE credits of course). Navigate to our DC Chapter Annual Spring Training Information resource page to find the 2026 slide decks, audio and video recordings, and other sessions from the past couple of years.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement as part of the AGA community. Together, we connect, recognize, and empower professionals who serve government in both public and private sectors, advancing good governance and promoting transparency. Let’s finish the program year with purpose.
